The owners of the St Antonin Noble Velo cycling holiday website originally contacted me for maintenance of their site, which was a custom-made PHP theme. The project then evolved as their business needs changed. Initially the work involved regular updates to WordPress and the content. Later we added functionality such as Instagram feeds and an online booking system and rebuilt the site using Elementor Pro to enable the client to more easily make content updates.
We also migrated the site from the old host (Bluehost), which really let down the owners when they appeared on A Place in the Sun by failing to upgrade the server capacity.
The old (custom) theme was starting to look dated and there were issues with the responsiveness, plus an increasing number of PHP errors. A plugin conflict prompted a rebuild, using the Elementor Theme files, customised for the velo site, based on the same layout (with branding changes) built for the Le Cheval Blanc chambres d’hotes and vegan cookery school website.
This new version of the site integrated:
- e-commerce and Stripe payments with WooCommerce
- Events management with Events Manager Pro.
The site layout and fonts are customised with CSS. It is hosted on our servers and uses LiteSpeed cache for CDN
