The Chateau Terre Blanche website was a redesign project. The owners already had a website that was built using Active Server Pages (asp) and with an unreliable host. Updates were time consuming and expensive so they wanted to have a new site built using WordPress with a new host with better uptime and better support.
The site was relaunched in two stages: first as a direct copy of the old site, which comprised 48 pages in English and French (no design changes) then the owners worked on the content, new images were added, and some practical enhancements, like an online booking and payment forms, were added.
Additional changes included:
- Adding social media sharing buttons
- Improving the language switching functionality (so that equivalent English and French language pages could be “paired”)
- Reducing the file sizes
- Implementing SSL
- Using slider images on each of the main pages
- Custom CSS
- Adding a Retina version of the logo
